Ingredients
- 4 green bell peppers
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium sized onion, chopped
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
- 1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
- 2-3 ribs of celery chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoon minced parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
Directions
Remove tops and seeds from peppers, and place them in a microwavable dish. Add water, Cover and cook for 3 minutes in microwave. Let stand without draining while preparing filling. Combine beef, onion and celery in bowl and cook for 3 minutes. Stir to crumble beef. Add remaining ingredients except ketchup, and mix together well. Divide among peppers. (Once the peppers are stuffed, I just put the leftover mixture around them.) Cover and cook 10 minutes. Spread 1 tablespoon of ketchup over top of each and cover: let stand 2-3 minutes to soften.
