1st Part: Bottom Layer
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine (do not use any margarine that contains corn oil)
- 1 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (real)
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts)
In a saucepan, melt butter & chocolate. Blend in sugar, eggs, & vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in nuts and spread in a greased 9 x 13 pan.
2nd Part: Filling
- 6 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup soft butter or margarine (no corn oil)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 3 cups marshmallows
Combine cream cheese, butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, & 2 tablespoons flour. Beat until smooth & fluffy in a small mixer bowl. Stir in nuts and spread over the chocolate layer. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Sprinkle with marshmallows and bake 2 minutes longer ( watch carefully, you just want the marshmallows to be soft).
3rd Part: Frosting {Make this while the rest is baking!}
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 2 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 pound box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
In a small pan melt butter & chocolate. Add cream cheese & milk. Add powdered sugar. Beat until smooth & creamy. Then blend in vanilla. Spread over marshmallows while they are still warm from being in the oven. After frosted, let cool on a cake rack.
