Banana Bread

I like bananas because they have no bones.
(Our Grandpa Rosiere used to sing this to us anytime we were eating a banana.)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar  
  • 4 large bananas
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, bananas, dry ingredients, milk, nuts, and vanilla. Pour into two greased loaf pans. Bake at 325º for 1 hour. This bread freezes well.
