Autumn Fruit Salad

I first tried this recipe when I was pregnant with Owen. Joyce brought it to a party. I remember thinking that I could have eaten the whole bowl.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 unpeeled chopped apples
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 2 cups halved seedless grapes
  • 1 cup walnut halves

Directions

In a saucepan, combine sugar and flour. Stir in water and bring to a boil. Cook and boil until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Cool to room temperature. In large bowl, combine apples, grapes, celery and walnuts. Add dressing and toss gently. Refrigerate until serving. 8- 10 servings.
